This walk takes you from Ora, through an idyllic wood, to the wine village of Montagna. The mountainside along which the path winds is particularly famous for the typical vineyards where the best Pinot Noir grapes in South Tyrol grow. Montagna is also the ideal starting point for the magnificent panoramic trail that has been made from the old railway line that led all the way into the Val di Fiemme.

    Turn-by-turn directions

The starting point is Ora’s main square. From Via Truidn you arrive in Church Square, and passing the church of Santa Maria on your right, you find yourself in Via Cascata. From the protective barrier, passing over the bridge, path no. 3 leads to Montagna. Along a shaded path in the woods, the walk continues up to Via Dolomiti. Here you take the underpass and then go down to the tennis courts. On the opposite side of the road, path no. 4 leads you back through the magnificent vineyards to Ora. Alternatively, you can catch the bus (line 140), which leads from Via Dolomiti to Ora.

If you’ve still got some breath, you can continue in Montagna past the tennis courts to the village square and from there follow the sign for Pinzano. At the end of the road, the "Vecchia Ferrovia” (Old Railway Line) path leads all the way up to San Lugano along a beautiful scenic route.

Resting places: Restaurant Zur Rose and Restaurant Goldener Löwe in the middle of Montagna
