Neumarkt/Egna is situated at the foot of
Castelfeder hill (at 217 m) and has
5,000 inhabitants. Thanks to its favourable geographical location the village was a flourishing trade centre in the Middle Ages and is still the cultural and commercial centre of the Unterland/Bassa Atesina region. The idyllic
hamlets of Mazon/Mazzon, Vill/Villa and the southern
Laag/Laghetti also belong to Neumarkt. It is for good reason that the picturesque village is counted among
the most beautiful places in Italy. The old village centre with its 500 m high arcades, the stately country houses and magnificent courtyards is also worth seeing. In Neumarkt in South Tyrol you find the ideal mix of
entertainment, recreation and
pleasure. Immerse yourself in the southern flair and the charming atmosphere of Neumarkt.
